New Moon in Sidereal Capricorn

On the Forgotten Moon we remember our early experiences of being left out and the feelings and fantasies that we used to tide us over during that painful time. We look at the ambitions that may have been stunted or set aside because of early trauma and we reexamine them...We also confront our feeling about the unfairness of the Universe. - Moon Phase Astrology by Raven Kaldera.

When I was a kid in school, I was always left out of birthday parties and holiday celebrations. While the other kids would participate in the costume parade, I and other Jehovah's Witness children would be stuck in the library. It was never a lot of us; some parents had the decency to just keep their kids home. Since I was poor, I only got new clothes the beginning of the year. Nothing new for Christmas. So my fantasy was that my family didn't have to wait until birthdays or Christmas to buy presents; we got presents all year round. Yeah right.

I was really smart too. I was offered a position on the student government. But noooo, since JWs don't participate in government, I had to decline that. I wonder how different my life would have been if I had been allowed to participate in activities that other kids got to do - sports, band, dance team, prom.

And to top it off, I'm the fat sister. Yeah, I used to blame the Universe. Why did I have to be the fat one? I'm clearly not my mother's favorite either. I feel like I'm truly forgotten. My mother hasn't called or visited me in forever (but she calls my son).

BUT had I not gone through all these things, I would not be the me that I am now. I wonder if I would have ever found my true spiritual path?

TSC - New sibling

Mom got me a sibling. She's a funny looking dog that hisses. I think I like her but I don't know if she likes me yet. Mom said that I need someone to play with when I'm left alone sometimes. I don't think my new furry sister wants to play yet though. Mom got her from the same shelter I came from. She doesn't have a name yet. What do you think?

Pawfully yours,

Judge's Moon

Sekmet's Day, Shef-Bedet 24
Metonic Lunation 212
Mayan Tzolk'in - 9 Kan
Dreamspell - Blue Self-Existing Monkey

3rd quarter in sidereal Libra

On the Judge's Moon, we consider what we really think about people and all the way we judge them. We also think about what we believe to be fair and how much of that is influenced by our feelings. The point is not to deny the latter but to be aware of them; Moon work is all about being calmly aware of your emotions before you, well, judge them to be in need of changing or locking up. - Moon Phase Astrology by Raven Kaldera.

1st Day of (Pagan) Spring

Better known as Groundhog Day, Imbolc (Celtic) or as I like to call it Risshun or Hara Matsuri (Japanese) is the 1st day of spring. The sun is at 315 deg on the ecliptic which is 15 deg tropical Aquarius. Days are definitely getting longer. Time to say goodbye to my SAD.

Pagan Blog Project - C is for Chakra

In Eastern paths, chakras are the centers of life force. When chakras are blocked, a host of physical and emotional issues occur. There are 7 chakras and each is associated with a color. The following are brief descriptions of each.

Crown - top of head
Associated with Higher Self, spirituality, meditation and the nervous system

Brow - center of forehead
Psychic abilities, imagination

Throat
Thyroid, communication

Heart
Circulatory / Respiratory systems, love, forgiveness, self-control

Solar Plexus (above stomach but below ribs)
Personal power

Sacral (below navel)
Reproductive system, sensuality

Root - coccyx / perineum ("taint")
survival, individuality

Here is an awesome chart for the chakras.

The 8th chakra is not really a chakra at all. It's the aura and is colorless. We all radiate energy but most of us don't call it our aura, we say "personal bubble". It is important to heal the aura when doing chakra work else all the energy will flow away.
