Just goes to show what a huge umbrella term it is! But as you say, exception, not the rule, and so far distant from modern neopagans... :)Neopagan Priestesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15389878173900385163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899127576497018828.post-91996183361526972692012-05-03T10:45:31.527-04:002012-05-03T10:45:31.527-04:00Thank you love! But I agree with you - most pagan cultures back then did NOT sacrifice living beings. Cultures like the Mayan are the exception, not the rule.Buddhaganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15753180190392981429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899127576497018828.post-16240944004005498142012-05-03T06:38:09.833-04:002012-05-03T06:38:09.833-04:00Lovely post! In sites known to have belonged to pagan cultures, you never find bone caches, altars with blood runnels, pits, or any of the things that were found in Mayan sites. Just statues to the Goddess, and egalitarian spaces (no huge homes for the rich and hovels for the poor). Just saying' :)Neopagan Priestesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15389878173900385163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-899127576497018828.post-20211519628367958122012-05-02T19:23:16.648-04:002012-05-02T19:23:16.648-04:00Awesome post J!
